Community Relations Program
Hewitt proudly supports our associates’ efforts to give back to the communities and environment in which we work. The following are in addition to our corporate community support programs.
- Community Partnerships—We provide donations, volunteers, pro-bono and in-kind work, and thought leadership via community partnerships with not-for-profit organizations providing direct services in the areas of human services and education.
- Granting—Our associates raise funds for charitable organizations that combat poverty and promote health and education. Our Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto offices also support the United Way.
- Volunteerism—We support associates’ involvement in their communities by offering “Hewitt Time for Hewitt Concerns”, which gives associates paid time off each year to volunteer in their communities. We are proud to be the only HR firm that has a policy providing associates a specified amount of paid time for volunteering. Associates regularly volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, at food banks/soup kitchens, and at New Immigrant mentoring programs.
- Thought Leadership—Our management and leaders serve on various boards to provide thought leadership across diverse issues, including workforce readiness, health management, financial security, and change management.
- Pro-Bono Services and In-Kind Donations—We provide pro-bono human resources consulting (including compensation studies, retention strategies, and competency definitions) to not-for-profit organizations that could not otherwise afford them. We also make in-kind donations, which have included call centers, printing, real estate space, office supplies, and other services.
- Matching Gifts Program—Established in memory of founder Ted Hewitt, we match associate contributions up to $500 to secondary and collegiate education institutions.
- Partnerships with NGO’s in Canada—Hewitt Canada supports partnerships with Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement, as well as local Canadian NGO’s. We are proud to support the United Way in our Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto offices. In addition, various offices across Canada support the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and Leucan, as well as many smaller local agencies in each of the cities where we operate.
