Health and Wellness

Our health care program provides associates choice, flexibility, and affordability. We offer a variety of plans and coverage options to fit our associates’ needs and budgets. Many benefits are company-paid or the cost is subsidized with Healthcare and Wellness Service Flexible Dollars. For other benefits, we share in the cost or pass along a group discount.

When you join Hewitt, you and your eligible family members get first-day coverage under the following health plans and programs:

  • Medical—The medical plan is available to all full-time associates, part-time associates working at least 24 hours per week, and retirees. We offer five options in medical care; you choose the option that best meets your needs. You pay for your coverage with flexible dollars and/or payroll deductions.
  • Dental—The dental plan is available to all full-time associates, part-time associates working at least 24 hours per week, and retirees. We offer four options in dental care; you choose the option that will best meet your needs. You pay for your coverage with flexible dollars and/or payroll deductions.
  • Health Care Expense Account—The health care expense account (HCEA) provides you with a non-taxable source of funds for health- and dental-related expenses not covered by the Hewitt Medical and Dental Plans or the Provincial Health Plan. You can also fund the account with excess flexible dollars.
  • Healthcare and Wellness Service Flexible Dollars—To help you purchase health care coverage each year, Hewitt gives you benefits and wellness flex dollars. You also receive service flex dollars based on your length of service with Hewitt. If you have flexible credits left over after making your choices, they can be deposited into your health care expense account Deferred Profit Sharing Plan, used to purchase additional paid time off, or paid to you throughout the year as extra taxable cash in your paycheque.
